My AFib started about eight years ago. 8 had an ablation after a few cardioversions. I am on Metroperol and Flecynid and a blood thinner. If I don't ingest cafein or soda or alcohol then I have no AFib issue. Drink plenty of water to keep hydrated. Good luck!

I just had a serious heart failure (afib) I'm also diabetic type 2 and had high blood pressure.my numbers were out of control but not anymore. Yes the medication the doctors prescribe does help but I believe the true answer lyes within yourself. You must change and do away with your bad habits. Limit the bad you put into your body, the bad foods and if there's illegal drugs involved please stop the habit. I promise you you will see a longer and happier life. It's our bad habits that's killing us. I'm 51 years old and I've illiminated my bad habits. You should see the change in my health it's as if I've been reborn. Be patient and change the bad habits especially the bad foods Take care to all of you: from a mutual friend.

Have had 4 ablations 17 cardio version. I have been on probably ever drug out there. On Solotal now seems to be the best but still can start a fib at any time. Have been dealing with this for 10 years. Was ready for ablation number 5 but got scared off. Still waiting for something new that works.

Mine last for hours. Can do nothing. Take aspirin and try to regulate breathing. Can take no sound or movement around me. Xanax helps some. Maybe if I double up on Diltiazem? So painful and often.

My mom has afib. She is 74. When her heart starts racing she grabs a bottled water that she leaves out to be room temperature....throws her head back as far as possible and downs the whole bottle and it works so far for her.

I am having a Watchman placed in my left ventricular appendage. It is supposed to be 99% effective in reducing strokes. My pacemaker was very effective for years nut again is back with a blast. The Watchman will not stop again. I will be on blood thinners for 6 month after surgery. I have taken flecinide and rythmol. Still have afib . Doctor says he may start a new med but would have to be hospitalized to start it. Anyone trying new meds?
