Does the tax hike discriminate against certain people … & Snooki’s “Situation” with Obama

Recently, the Obama Administration implemented a 10% tax on tanning beds. Critics argue that the tan tax violates caucasians constitutional right of equal protection of the law because tanning salon customers are almost “exclusively white” so they will be paying almost all of the taxes.
Does this argument hold water? Not likely. The Washington Post interviewed Randall Kennedy who is a professor at Harvard Law School and concentrates on racial conflict and law. Kennedy commented:
“There is no constitutional problem at all, because a plaintiff would have to show that the government intended to disadvantage a particular group, not simply that the group is disadvantaged in effect.
Kennedy further rationalized this with other laws that disproportionately impact certain groups. So long as the legislature lacked intent to discriminate against a certain group, the law will be upheld. Kennedy pointed to these other laws that have been upheld:
