Confidence on Estonian Government on the Rise Again

The confidence Estonian citizens have in their government is increasing again. A survey carried out by Eurobarometer last fall showed that now 47 percent of Estonians have confidence in the government.Aivar Voog, analyst of TNS Emor said that “The decline trend since spring 2007 when the Government’s confidence rating was 68 per cent and that reached 38 per cent last summer has stopped”.According to a survey carried out by TNS Emor, Estonians people have an higher confidence in the Defense Forces, backed by 77 percent of the population, the television, 70 percent and the European Union, 69 percent.This strong backing to the television media is surprising, if compared to the support that television has from other EU citizens, only 49 percent.Similar to the EU average, 43 percent in Estonia and 42 percent in EU, is the print media’s confidence.
