Ah yes, we’ve all asked them…those timeless questions everyone ponders at some point, like “How many stars are in the universe?” or ”How many grains of sand are on the beach?”  Now the Internet, essentially a universe of its own, has spawned a new set of imponderables to consider, such as “How many inkjet cartridges would be consumed if it were printed in it’s entirety?” The answer to that, 45 million inkjet cartridges, is considered here.  The comparison extrapolates that number of cartridges to 500,000 liters of ink.  Since inkjet ink probably the most expensive liquid on the planet costing up to $2200 per liter, I calculate that it would cost approximately $1.1 Billion to print the Internet.
