A Look at One of Those Fake iPhones
As mentioned in one of our earlier posts, iPhone Knock-Offs are currently some of the more recent offspring of 3rd World mockbusting. We recently got a chance to borrow one of these knock-offs from a friend — and from first glance? IT’S NO IPHONE. Aside from the name, the phone doesn’t even TRY — it has a keypad! It has a stylus! Viva La Mockbuster!
As stated before, we do not endorse copyright-infringements-waiting-to-happen — we merely admire 3rd World ingenuity.
So how do we do this: do we review it based on its similarity to the device it was copied from, or do we dissect it for its unique features?
Similarities
The Name - It’s called the iPhone. No special model numbers, no streetnames (if devices even have streetnames, wouldn’t that be cool?) — from where our friend bought it, they just call it “iPhone China.”
